Senior Building Surveyor

An established and highly regarded independent property and construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join its growing Surrey office.

The practice provides a comprehensive range of professional services including Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Health & Safety across a diverse client-base in the public and private sectors.

The opportunity:

Working as part of an experienced Building Surveying team, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of professional and project-led instructions, including:

• Building and material defect diagnosis and reporting
• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys and lifecycle planning
• Design, specification and contract administration
• Project delivery and refurbishment schemes
• Technical due diligence and building pathology advice
• Client and stakeholder management
• Preparation of schedules, reports and specifications
• Monitoring project progress, quality and commercial performance

Projects range in value from approximately £25,000 to £4 million , providing exposure to both smaller bespoke commissions and larger capital works programmes.

About you:

• Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline
• MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
• Strong technical Building Surveying knowledge
• Experience delivering professional and project work
• Good understanding of building defects, maintenance and refurbishment projects
• Experience in design and contract administration
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage a varied workload
