I’m currently working with a well-established multi-disciplinary property consultancy who are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to join their London team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced MRICS Building Surveyor who enjoys working across a genuine mix of professional and project work within both commercial and residential property.

The business acts as a retained consultant for a major property investment client, supporting them across a large and varied portfolio throughout London and the Home Counties. The role offers excellent exposure to refurbishment and redevelopment schemes, landlord and tenant matters, dilapidations, defect analysis and wider advisory services.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of surveying instructions and will take ownership of projects from inception through to completion.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing refurbishment and redevelopment projects in a Project Manager / Contract Administrator capacity
• Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
• Running tender processes and analysing returned tenders
• Carrying out dilapidations inspections, negotiations and settlements, primarily acting for landlords
• Undertaking defect diagnosis inspections and preparing technical reports
• Reviewing tenant alteration proposals and carrying out completion inspections
• Producing planned maintenance reports and capital expenditure plans
• Preparing schedules of condition for lease and party wall matters
• Advising on building compliance and energy efficiency improvements in line with EPC legislation
• Supporting party wall matters and dispute resolution where required

About You

• MRICS qualified with ideally 5+ years PQE
• Previous experience within private practice or a client-side consultancy environment
• Strong technical understanding across commercial and residential property
• Comfortable managing workload independently while working collaboratively within a wider team
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Experience across both professional services and project-led surveying work

• Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience
