Carriera is working on behalf of a leading multidisciplinary property consultancy with one of the largest teams of Chartered Surveyors in the UK property sector, comprising over 100 surveyors across regional offices nationwide. Their Cambridge Building Surveying team has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join a well-established and growing office.
The Building Surveying team works closely alongside established Project Management and Building Services Engineering disciplines, delivering trusted and tailored services to a strong base of local and regional clients.
This role suits a Chartered Building Surveyor who is a Member of the RICS and is seeking to join an ambitious team aligned with a clear growth strategy. You will deliver the full range of professional and project-related Building Surveying services across a broad mix of sectors including education, office, retail, industrial and residential.
You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive suite of Building Surveying services, including schedules of condition, dilapidations, contract administration, defect diagnosis, pre-acquisition and technical due diligence surveys, and reinstatement cost assessments.
This is a client-facing role requiring a personable and professional approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while producing high-quality documentation to exacting professional standards.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge and experience across core Building Surveying competencies, with a proven ability to deliver professional services independently.

Maintain a high level of attention to detail and pride in the quality of outputs
Produce clear, concise and accurate technical reports and specifications
Prioritise tasks effectively and adapt to changing demands
Communicate clearly and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders
Plan, manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary instructions, acting as lead consultant to ensure seamless collaboration and successful project delivery
Build and maintain long-term client relationships, supporting repeat business and client satisfaction
The Skills and Experience you need to have for this Role:
Chartered Member of the RICS (MRICS or FRICS)
Significant experience in a Building Surveying role, ideally across multiple sectors
Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, construction technology, contract administration, design and specification, inspection, and legal and regulatory compliance
Full UK driving licence
Excellent IT skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, NBS and other relevant industry software
Experience mentoring junior surveyors and supporting their professional development
