APC Building Surveyor (with Project Monitoring Duties)

Location: London and Surrey

Salary: up to £45,000 + Package

We are pleased to be supporting a renowned and dynamic property consultancy specialising in comprehensive building surveying and project monitoring services. Operating from London and the South East, they pride themselves on being the absolute service line experts within their respective fields. Working within the commercial and private residential space, they’re clients range from prominent funders, developers and prestigious Landed Estates.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Building Surveyor who will also undertake project monitoring duties. This role will be split between London and Surrey offices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of building construction and pathology, excellent project management skills, and the ability to provide expert advice on all aspects of the building surveying profession.

Key Responsibilities:

Building Surveying:

• Conduct detailed building surveys and inspections.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports on findings.
• Advise clients on property condition, maintenance, and construction issues.
• Manage and oversee building projects from inception to completion.
• Provide expertise in areas such as dilapidations, party wall matters, and building regulations compliance.
• Ensure that all work complies with relevant regulations and standards.

Project Monitoring:

• Monitor construction projects to ensure they meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to provide updates and manage expectations.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with construction projects.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and compliance with project specifications.
• Prepare detailed reports on project status and any issues encountered.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards on construction sites.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A degree in Building Surveying or a related field.
• MRICS or working towards chartered status is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in building surveying and project monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
