Senior Building Surveyor

Our client, a well‑established building consultancy within the property services sector, is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join their London team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead technical and project‑based work across a diverse residential and commercial portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

-        Undertake technical due diligence, condition surveys, and defect analysis across a variety of building types.

-         Lead refurbishment, restoration or conversion projects from inception through to completion, including contract administration.

-        Prepare detailed specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation, and provide clear, strategic advice aligned with commercial objectives.

-        Ensure compliance with building regulations, planning, health & safety and retrofit standards.

-        Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to business development activities.

What we’re looking for:

-        Chartered or near‑chartered surveyor (MRICS/MCIOB) with strong building surveying pathway experience.

-        Demonstrable track record of surveying and project managing schemes, especially in the residential sector (heritage or listed property experience advantageous)

-        Excellent technical expertise in building pathology, construction methodology, statutory compliance and commercial awareness.

-        Strong communication skills, ability to present complex technical information clearly, and a proactive approach to managing varied workloads.
