Carriera is working with an established construction consultancy looking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate Cost Manager to play a key role within its Oxford operation.

This is a senior client facing position combining project delivery, account management and team leadership.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for established client accounts across sectors including education, healthcare and commercial property, while helping develop those relationships and identify opportunities for further growth.

This would suit an experienced consultancy Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager who has progressed beyond straightforward project delivery and is comfortable taking ownership of clients, people and commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the delivery of Cost Management services across a portfolio of projects.
• Act as a senior point of contact for key client accounts.
• Lead projects from inception through to completion.
• Provide strategic cost and commercial advice to clients.
• Oversee the preparation of cost plans, estimates, tender documentation and procurement advice.
• Manage post contract commercial delivery including valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Develop existing accounts and identify opportunities for additional instructions.
• Support the development of new client relationships.
• Monitor project performance, quality and commercial outcomes.
• Support resource planning across the Cost Management team.
• Mentor and develop junior members of the team.
• Contribute to wider business planning and regional growth.
• Maintain high standards of technical delivery and client service.

   

Requirements

• Significant Quantity Surveying or Cost Management experience gained within a consultancy or client side environment.
• Strong experience within sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial property or similar.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and develop existing accounts.
• Strong technical delivery experience across pre and post contract Cost Management.
• Experience leading projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial awareness with an understanding of revenue, profitability and resource management.
• Confident operating directly with senior client stakeholders.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or another relevant discipline.
• MRICS or membership of another relevant professional body.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

The position offers significant autonomy alongside the support and resources of an established consultancy, making it particularly attractive to an Associate ready for greater influence or an experienced Senior Associate looking for a fresh platform.
