Role: Director, Cost Consultancy
Location: Leeds, Hybrid Working
Sector: Commercial Property, Industrial & Logistics
Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 + car allowance + bonus
Carriera is working with an established independent property consultancy looking to appoint a Director to help establish and grow its Cost Consultancy offering in Leeds.
This is a genuinely entrepreneurial opportunity.
The business is already well established across the UK, with around 200 people and strong relationships with institutional investors, asset managers, developers and property owners. The Cost Consultancy service is growing, and the Leeds appointment will play a central role in building that capability across the North.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical Cost Management experience with genuine commercial ambition. You will be expected to deliver work, develop existing relationships, win new instructions and help build a team around you.
This would particularly suit someone who has reached Director or senior Associate Director level within a larger consultancy and feels ready to build something with greater autonomy, visibility and influence.
The role
You will:
- Help establish and grow the Cost Consultancy offering in Leeds
- Deliver Cost Management services across commercial offices, industrial, logistics and wider investment property
- Work with institutional investors, asset managers, developers and major property clients
- Develop existing client relationships and identify opportunities for additional instructions
- Originate new work through your own network and wider business relationships
- Lead projects from feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account
- Provide strategic commercial and cost advice to clients
- Develop fee proposals, pitches and new business opportunities
- Support the wider national Cost Consultancy strategy
- Help recruit, mentor and develop the Leeds Cost Management team as the service grows
- Work closely with colleagues across other property and technical disciplines to create cross selling opportunities
- Maintain strong technical standards and ensure consistent quality of delivery
About you
We are looking for a commercially minded Cost Management professional who wants more than simply inheriting an existing portfolio.
You should have:
- Significant Quantity Surveying or Cost Management experience within a consultancy environment
- MRICS qualification
- Strong client facing capability
- Experience across commercial offices, industrial, logistics or investment property
- A strong understanding of institutional property clients and asset management environments
- Evidence of developing client accounts and generating repeat work
- A track record of business development, work winning or fee generation
- Existing relationships across investors, asset managers, developers, funds or major property businesses
- Strong pre and post contract Cost Management experience
- Experience leading projects and supporting or managing teams
- The confidence to operate directly with senior client stakeholders
- An entrepreneurial approach and genuine appetite to build a service line
The opportunity
This is not a role for someone looking to maintain the status quo.
The business already has the platform, clients and national reach. The opportunity in Leeds is to take that foundation and build a stronger Cost Consultancy presence around it.
You will have access to established institutional relationships across the investment and property market, alongside the freedom to develop your own client base and shape how the team grows.
For the right person, this offers a genuine route to creating something with their own stamp on it while retaining the backing, infrastructure and market presence of an established consultancy.
Package
- Salary of £80,000 to £90,000
- Car allowance
- Performance related bonus
- Hybrid and flexible working
- Private healthcare
- Pension
- 27 days annual leave
- Additional wellbeing and lifestyle benefits
- Strong long term progression opportunity
