I’ve been retained by a well-established and highly regarded consultancy to support the appointment of a Quantity Surveyor for their Hampshire office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic cost management team that works collaboratively across a wide variety of sectors, delivering impactful projects from £1m up to £60m+.
You'll be working closely with longstanding public and third sector clients, with immediate involvement in projects for Local Government and a national Charity, while also contributing to the wider pipeline in Education, Residential, and PBSA (Purpose Built Student Accommodation) sectors.

About the position:
Supporting cost management from inception to completion.
Assisting on large and/or multiple concurrent projects.
Producing feasibility studies, cost plans, and BOQs.
Evaluating design options and providing value engineering input.
Preparing and issuing tender documents and managing tender processes.
Advising on procurement routes and contract terms.
Attending client meetings and producing financial reports.
Monitoring project progress and controlling costs post-contract.
Negotiating variations and agreeing final accounts.
Working with digital tools (e.g. CostX, BIM) for estimating and measurement.
Maintaining strong relationships with clients and consultants.
Supporting business development and contributing to team success.
About you:
Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or RICS-accredited equivalent.
Working towards MRICS preferred but not essential.
Demonstrable experience in cost consultancy / PQS environment.
Good understanding of construction methodologies and procurement strategies.
Proficiency with CostX and a strong interest in digital tools, BIM, and AI.
Sound working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills.
Capable of managing deadlines and workload independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Enthusiastic, reliable, and self-motivated with a team-focused attitude.
Able to adapt to changing client needs and project demands.
