We’re on the hunt for a talented Intermediate Quantity Surveyor ready to make their mark with a leading, independent construction consultancy. This isn’t your standard QS role, you’ll be at the heart of commercial decision-making, working on high-profile projects from £500k up to £12m. Acting as the vital link between junior QS staff and the senior team, you’ll bring your technical expertise, commercial savvy, and proactive guidance to a portfolio that spans multiple sectors. About the Position
You’ll join an expanding team of 22 staff across four offices, delivering projects across public and private sectors. Responsibilities include:
Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and feasibility studies
Producing Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Work, and tender documentation
Managing commercial aspects of contracts, including valuations and reporting
Acting as Employer’s Agent on selected projects
Supporting delivery teams and mentoring junior QS staff
Your work will cover multiple sectors, including healthcare, education, social and private housing, commercial, retail, industrial, community projects, and higher education estates.
About You
Intermediate level Quantity Surveyor experience, preferably chartered or working towards MRICS
Strong knowledge of traditional QS practices, cost planning, BOQs, valuations, and contract administration under JCT, NEC, or similar forms
Well-rounded sector experience rather than specialising in one area
Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness
Confident in mentoring junior QS staff and liaising with senior management
