I am partnering with an established cost management and construction consultancy that is busy on a range of high-profile projects across Greater London. You will be part of a team helping to deliver innovative solutions on complex builds that are shaping the capital’s-built environment.
There project slate includes central London schemes where technical expertise and commercial nous are critical, right through to vital housing developments in suburban London, giving you a truly varied mix of work.
About the Position
This Graduate Quantity Surveyor role is a real opportunity to cut your teeth on meaningful work right out of the gate. You will be working across several live and upcoming schemes including.
Major regeneration and refurbishment in London
Clients are progressing design and planning phases on healthcare and community infrastructure, including phased refurbishments of ageing hospital estates that involve careful cost planning and lifecycle budgeting. These schemes are highly technical with multiple stakeholders and long-term delivery timelines providing excellent commercial exposure.
Central London urban developments
London continues to see significant office and mixed-use revitalisation. Large scale workspace refurbishments are underway in key West End locations, focused on sustainability and BREEAM excellence as part of modern commercial repositioning.
Affordable housing and mixed use in South London
Across south London upcoming housing schemes including affordable residential developments built above existing infrastructure and council led initiatives will require robust cost management from concept through to delivery. These projects deliver real community impact and let you build commercial and stakeholder management skills.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
• Supporting detailed cost planning estimating and budget forecasting.
• Preparing and analysing tender packs bills of quantities and commercial reports.
• Monitoring costs throughout the project lifecycle to support financial control.
• Assisting with contract administration including valuations and variations.
• Liaising with contractor’s design teams and stakeholders to manage commercial risks.
You will have the chance to see real London projects evolve from early design to delivery and beyond.
About You
• Degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Management or similar.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills comfortable with cost models and spreadsheets.
• Clear communicator confident engaging with project teams and external partners.
• Familiar with MS Office experience with cost software such as CostX is an advantage.
• Energised to learn adaptable and happy to work across a range of schemes.
