Are you ready to see how numbers and strategy turn into real spaces people live, work, and learn in? I’m currently working with a director-led SME consultancy that is shaping projects across Greater London, from central commercial developments to community housing in south London.
This is a role where curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn will take you far. You’ll get hands-on exposure to live projects that challenge you to think commercially while building your technical skills, all within a supportive, mentoring-led environment.
About the Position
What if you could see your work make a tangible difference every day? As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will. You’ll be involved in projects that span central London offices and higher education expansions, as well as social housing and mixed-use schemes.
In central London, you might help convert empty office floors into modern workspaces or support higher education projects where precision and commercial insight are critical. You’llalso work on housing developments and council-led initiatives that genuinely impact communities, often navigating tricky challenges such as building above existing infrastructure.
On any given day you could be:
• Supporting detailed cost planning and early-stage budgets.
• Preparing bills of quantities and tender documentation.
• Monitoring project costs and assisting with financial reporting.
• Supporting contract administration including valuations and variations.
• Liaising with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to manage costs and risks.
This is a chance to see projects develop from concept to reality, gaining confidence, practical experience, and commercial awareness along the way.
About You
• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Curious, analytical, and comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets.
• Confident communicator who enjoys working in a collaborative team.
• Familiar with MS Office; knowledge of cost software such as CostXor Bluebeam is advantageous.
• Eager to learn, adaptable, and ready to get stuck into a variety of schemes.
• Excited to progress in your QS career and develop broader commercial skills.
Benefits
• Structured on-the-job training with dedicated mentoring from senior surveyors.
• Exposure to a range of central London and south London projects across commercial, residential, and social housing sectors.
• Competitive salary with clear career progression opportunities.
• Regular site visits so you can see your work in action.
• Support towards APC and professional development with a specialist mentor.
• Collaborative Director-led culture where your ideas and input are valued
