Chartered Building Surveyor - Client Side

Senior / Associate Building Surveyor (Client-Side)
Central London (Office-Based with Site Travel)
Up to £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits

I’m currently partnering with a long-established, privately owned property investment and asset management business to appoint a Chartered Building Surveyor at Senior / Associate level.

This is a rare opportunity to join a stable, well-capitalised organisation with a strong track record of acquiring, managing, and repositioning real estate across the UK.

The Business
With a heritage spanning several decades, the company has built and managed an extensive and highly diverse property portfolio. Historically comprising over 1,500 assets, the portfolio has been strategically refined in recent years to c.800 properties — allowing for a more focused, asset-led approach to investment and improvement.

Their holdings include a mix of offices, industrial, retail, and residential properties — including period and listed buildings — predominantly located within a 60-mile radius of London, with additional assets across the UK.

This repositioning strategy has driven a significant uplift in capital works, with refurbishment and asset enhancement projects now reaching values of up to £15 million.

The business operates with a collaborative, in-house model, bringing together asset management, legal, finance, and building consultancy functions — giving surveyors direct access to decision-makers and real influence over projects.

The Role
Working closely with the in-house Building Consultancy Lead and wider property team, you will take on a broad, hands-on role across both professional and project work.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering building surveys, inspections, and technical due diligence
• Managing refurbishment, redevelopment, and improvement projects (including CAT A / B and major works)
• Supporting planning and design processes alongside internal and external teams
• Advising on maintenance strategies and lifecycle planning
• Working closely with asset management and property management teams to drive value across the portfolio
• Overseeing external consultants, contractors, and project delivery

This is a highly visible role within a lean team, offering genuine ownership and involvement in projects from concept through to completion.

About You

• MRICS qualified
• Ideally 3–7 years’ post-qualified experience
• Strong background in commercial (and ideally mixed-use) property
• Experience working alongside asset management and design teams
• Comfortable navigating planning, design, and delivery stages of projects
• Proactive, commercially aware, and confident in a client-side environment
