We have recently been instructed on a sensational opportunity, for a senior building surveyor to join one of the UK’s largest private landowners in Bedford.

About the client; 

Our client owns and develops a property portfolio that is made up of commercial, residential, hotel and retail assets. They are one of London’s most active Landowners, ensuring their period properties are well maintained, whether it be internal, external or services. When tenants are coming close to their lease expiry, our client is looking at opportunities for the asset. This typically means in excess of £500k a year is spent on maintenance and circa £6 million is spent on development works. 2024 is going to be a particularly busy year with more than £17 million already committed to the development of the portfolio.

About the role

The opportunity will see you working closely with the estates and property manager, leading a small team, ensuring that the delivery of the overall objectives of the maintenance department, is provided in an effective and efficient manner.

Duties will range anywhere from undertaking measured surveys, through to dilapidations, supervising cyclical, planned and reactive maintenance schemes, as well as preparing annual budgets in line with the economic and property/construction markets.

About you;

You will ideally have a relevant construction related degree and prefferably MRICS. You will have experience in managing contractors and consultants and are experienced with planned, cyclical and reactive maintenance processes. You will have experience in dealing with listed properties, are informed on building regulations and can manage budgets effectively and are a team player.

Compensation; 

In return you will be rewarded with;

-    Basic Salary Up to £90,000

-    Holiday Entitlement (25 Days)

-    Pension 15% Non-Contributory

-    Professional Fees + More
