We're working with a well-established membership organisation with a national estate of leisure destinations across the UK. They are looking to appoint a Development Manager to take ownership of a varied programme of construction and infrastructure projects, helping to maintain, improve and expand a highly regarded network of sites.

This is a client-side role offering genuine project ownership from concept through to completion. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, consultants and contractors, managing multiple projects across the portfolio and influencing investment decisions that directly impact the customer experience.

The role would suit an experienced Construction Project Manager, Development Manager or consultancy professional looking to move into, or further develop, their career within a client-side environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Principal Development Manager, you'll be responsible for managing construction projects from initial feasibility and design development through to delivery and post-completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing multiple construction and capital projects across a nationwide estate.
• Leading projects through design, procurement, construction and defect resolution stages.
• Acting as Contract Administrator under JCT contracts.
• Managing programme, cost, quality and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinating consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Preparing cost estimates, business cases and capital expenditure reports for senior management approval.
• Supporting planning applications and building regulation approvals.
• Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, Building Regulations and health & safety legislation.
• Carrying out site visits, progress inspections and contractor performance reviews.
• Reviewing and coordinating concept, planning, construction and as-built drawings.
• Providing technical advice on property, development and estate improvement initiatives.

About You

We're keen to hear from construction professionals who can confidently manage projects independently and build strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholder groups.

You'll ideally have:

• Construction project management experience gained within client-side, consultancy, contractor, estates, property or development environments.
• Strong knowledge of JCT contract administration.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good understanding of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and project teams.
• AutoCAD knowledge and experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and cost management capability.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• A proactive and organised approach with the ability to take ownership of projects.

Desirable

• Degree or HND in Construction, Building Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline.
• CIOB membership.
• SMSTS qualification.
• Experience working across multi-site property portfolios.
• Experience within leisure, hospitality, estates, property or development sectors.
