Senior Building Surveyor (Commercial Property Consultancy)

Location: Buckinghamshire (office-based with some site travel)
Salary: Up to £65,000 + benefits

I’m currently working with a highly respected, chartered building surveying consultancy based in Buckinghamshire who are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to join their growing team.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role within a close-knit practice that delivers a broad range of commercial surveying services across the UK. The business is well established within the commercial property sector and has built a strong reputation for being pragmatic, commercially focused, and technically robust in their advice. Their work spans a mix of landlord and tenant instructions, project delivery, and professional surveying services across offices, industrial, retail and mixed-use assets.

The Role

As Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll take a leading role in delivering and managing a varied workload, working closely with directors and clients. You’ll be involved in both professional and project-based instructions, with a strong emphasis on dilapidations, project delivery, and technical due diligence.

You’ll be expected to act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing clear, commercially sound advice while maintaining a high standard of technical delivery. This role also offers the opportunity to mentor junior surveyors and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering building surveying instructions across commercial property portfolios
• Dilapidations (preparation, negotiation and advisory work)
• Contract administration and project delivery on refurbishment and fit-out schemes
• Technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys
• Schedules of condition and building pathology
• Client relationship management and development of repeat business
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

About You

• MRICS qualified (or equivalent experience at senior level)
• Strong background in commercial building surveying
• Experience across dilapidations and project-led work
• Confident client-facing communicator with strong report writing skills
• Commercially aware, practical and solutions-focused
• Able to manage multiple instructions independently
