Assistant Building Surveyor

Oxford 

Up to £33,000 p/a

Your Opportunity

Due to continued business growth, a fantastic opportunity has opened up for a motivated Assistant Building Surveyor to join a well-established consultancy team based in Oxford.

This role offers the chance to work across a diverse range of sectors including education, commercial, and industrial, supporting clients at every stage of the property lifecycle-from acquisition to disposal.

You'll be part of a highly collaborative team that values progression and supports career development, including full APC support toward chartership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering projects, commissions, and professional building surveying services
  • Undertake building surveys, site inspections, and attend project meetings
  • Help prepare design specifications, schedules of work, and maintenance programmes
  • Support in producing schedules of dilapidations and negotiating settlements
  • Assist with contract administration and supervision of works on site
  • Contribute to defect analysis and reporting
  • Maintain effective communication across all stages of project delivery
  • Represent the business in a professional manner, attending client meetings and networking events

What We're Looking For:

  • A RICS-accredited degree (minimum 2:1 classification)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and NBS
  • Organised, proactive and team-oriented approach
  • Confident communicator with good written and verbal skills
  • A genuine passion for progressing a career in building surveying
  • Commitment to working towards becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor

Additional Requirements:

This role may require Security Clearance (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV). Offers of employment could be dependent on obtaining the appropriate level of clearance. This will be discussed during the interview process. Please do not reference any current or previous clearance levels in your CV or application.
