A rare opportunity to move client-side and develop your health & safety career across a substantial UK property portfolio.

Carriera has been instructed by an established and highly successful private property investment, development and management business to appoint a Group Health & Safety Assistant.

The business owns and manages a substantial portfolio of more than 750 commercial and residential properties, with a significant concentration in central London alongside assets throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious health & safety professional who wants to work in-house for an end client, gaining exposure to the practical management of a large and diverse property portfolio.

Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager and wider property management team, you will play an important role in maintaining and improving health & safety standards across the portfolio.

The opportunity:

This is much more than a compliance administration position. You will gain hands-on exposure to properties, projects, contractors and stakeholders while developing your technical H&S experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting health & safety policies, procedures and best practice
• Assisting with property inspections, risk assessments and audits
• Monitoring statutory compliance across the portfolio
• Maintaining H&S, incident and compliance records
• Liaising with property managers, contractors, consultants and tenants
• Monitoring contractor insurance, accreditation and statutory documentation
• Supporting construction, maintenance and refurbishment projects
• Assisting with compliance under CDM 2015
• Taking ownership of specific compliance improvement projects
• Supporting H&S training and management reporting
• Helping drive continuous improvement across the portfolio

About you:

We are interested in speaking with H&S Assistants, H&S Coordinators, Compliance Assistants and developing Health & Safety professionals who want to progress their career within the property industry.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous health & safety or compliance experience
• NEBOSH General Certificate or be working towards it
• A good understanding of UK health & safety legislation
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015
• An understanding of contractor compliance and risk management
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A proactive, confident and professional approach

Experience within property management, facilities management or a similar environment would be advantageous, but importantly, we are looking for someone with the attitude and ambition to develop.
