Carriera is excited to be partnering with an established and highly successful private property investment company with an extensive portfolio of over 750 commercial and residential properties across London and selected regions throughout the UK.

As the business continues to develop its in-house Health & Safety function, they are looking to appoint a Group Health & Safety Assistant to support the Group Health & Safety Manager across their diverse property portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety professional looking to take the next step in their career and gain valuable exposure to property, compliance, contractor management, risk management and CDM within an established in-house environment.

The Role

Working closely with the Group Health & Safety Manager, you will support the delivery and ongoing development of Health & Safety standards across the company's commercial and residential portfolio.

This is a varied role which combines hands-on H&S support with compliance and administration, giving you the opportunity to work with Property Managers, contractors, consultants and tenants across a broad range of properties and projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the implementation and review of Health & Safety policies, procedures and best practice.
• Carrying out and assisting with property inspections, risk assessments, audits and compliance checks.
• Maintaining accurate H&S records, reports, actions and statutory compliance documentation.
• Monitoring compliance through the company's risk management systems.
• Working closely with Property Managers, contractors, consultants and tenants to ensure H&S standards are maintained.
• Supporting contractor approval and monitoring processes, including insurance, accreditation and statutory documentation.
• Supporting construction, maintenance and refurbishment projects in line with CDM 2015.
• Taking ownership of allocated compliance improvement projects and helping to drive outstanding actions through to completion.
• Supporting the organisation and recording of Health & Safety training.
• Preparing H&S reports and compliance information for management.
• Keeping up to date with changes in legislation, guidance and industry best practice.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised and keen to develop their Health & Safety career within a property environment.

You will ideally have:

• NEBOSH General Certificate, or be working towards it.
• Previous experience within a Health & Safety or compliance support position.
• A good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015.
• An understanding of contractor management and risk management.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• The ability to travel across London, with occasional travel outside the capital.

Desirable

• IOSH membership or working towards membership.
• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Property, facilities management or similar sector experience.
• Experience using H&S compliance or risk management systems.
• Contractor compliance experience.
• Experience with MRI Horizon.
