Associate Building Surveyor - Cardiff

£65,000 - £70,000 + benefits

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a well-established property consultancy in Cardiff, taking a senior position within the team with a clear route through to Director.

The practice advises a broad range of clients across the commercial and public sectors, with projects spanning offices, industrial, retail and public sector property.

This is a varied role combining project and professional building surveying, alongside team leadership, client management and business development.

The opportunity:

You will work closely with the senior leadership team, taking responsibility for your own clients and instructions while helping to manage and develop the wider building surveying team.

Typical work will include:

  • Contract administration and project delivery
  • Refurbishment, alteration and improvement projects
  • Planned maintenance and capital works
  • Building surveys and technical due diligence
  • Dilapidations
  • Schedules of condition
  • Defect diagnosis and building pathology
  • Landlord and tenant advice
  • Client and stakeholder management
  • Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors
  • Identifying opportunities to develop existing and new client relationships

About you:

We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor who is comfortable operating at Associate level or someone ready to make that step.

  • Be MRICS qualified
  • Have consultancy or property advisory experience
  • Have experience across offices, industrial, retail and/or public sector property
  • Be comfortable delivering both project and professional instructions
  • Have strong client-facing skills
  • Enjoy mentoring and developing others
  • Have the commercial awareness and ambition to help grow a team and client base

In return:

This is more than simply a delivery role. The successful individual will have the opportunity to become an important part of the Cardiff business, helping shape the team and its future growth.

For someone with the ambition to progress, there is a genuine route through to Director, with the opportunity to develop leadership, client and commercial responsibilities along the way.

If you are an experienced Building Surveyor in South Wales looking for greater responsibility, autonomy and a defined next step in your career, this is well worth a conversation.
