Pivotal time for the construction industry

With the new requirements under the Building Safety Act 2022 coming into force last October, changes are now well underway to implement the new roles, responsibilties and processes relating to high-rise properties.

Adapting to these changes is essential. Understanding the Act's requirements, cooperating with other dutyholders and embracing a culture of safety and compliance is crucial in navigating this new era of construction regulation.

The impact of these new requirements is being felt by all stakeholders, including the client, the principal contractor and the principal designer, which is why our client is now looking to grow their team of Principal Designers/CDM designers.

The opportunities

Over the next 12 months we will be looking to engage 7 to 8 experienced and competent professionals across the country.  Candidates will come from a property and consultancy background and will have excellent technical understanding of the CDM Regulations and role of CDM adviser or principal designer.

Candidates should also be familiar with construction phase plans, pre-construction information packs, H&S files, design risk registers/reviews, chairing design and client meetings and offer advice on safety in design.

Qualifications such as a NEBOSH Construction, NEBOSH diploma or equivalent would be desirable as would membership to IOSH or APS.

The salary range is £45,000 - £55,000 (dependant on experience), plus car allowance.
