Carriera have been retained by an engineering and development consultancy situated in London. For this role specifically, they are looking for an assistant cost manager who would offer support on cost, budgeting, feasibility studies, risk management, etc.

You will be an assistant cost manager who will be assisting the lead QS within various projects being handed to you. Your main responsibilities will include preparing bills of quantities, curating monthly valuations, financial reporting and also monitoring of the overall performance of the projects, financially.
You will also be making direct contact with clients as a requirement, sharing feasibility data with the advisory team, attending credit control meetings on a monthly basis and dealing with any activities arising.
You will work closely with clients carrying out preparing tendering documents, leading client facing meetings, feasibility studies, robust cost plans. The practice is the premier professional services provider in the local and arguably regional market and is clearly seen as the employer of choice.
You will have a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or any relevant engineering course. You will have experience of working within a similar practice, may already be chartered or you’re on route to attaining full chartership with RICS. You will have at least 4 years of experience in quantity surveying with some demonstrable experience of working on risk management and feasibility studies which is very essential.
It will be advantageous if you have prior experience working within an international cost consultancy where you have obtained leadership skills which will help to build and nurture many relationships with clients. Must be able to manage multiple team members who all have a diverse background and also creating an operative working environment.
Ideally, you will have the ability to deal with priorities effectively and being able to manage your time accurately. In return you will be given a very competitive salary, bonus and full benefits.
