They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the team covering projects across London/ South East. You will work closely with projects and business hubs throughout London, providing technical expertise and mentoring to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to our clients ISO management system. Regular audits and inspections will also be a crucial part of your responsibilities.

Key duties:

  • Advise on statutory compliance of operational activities and ensure adherence to relevant policy and legislation.
  • Collaborate closely with projects and business hubs in West London, offering technical expertise and mentoring.
  • Educate the business on regulatory compliance obligations and adherence to the ISO management system.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory bodies, ensuring effective communication and understanding of requirements.
  • Mentor and challenge direct and subcontractor employees and project management teams to promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Deliver training courses on health, safety, and environmental topics.
  • Produce detailed and accurate reports, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Stay up-to-date with statutory provisions and HSE guidance, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Hold a NEBOSH General or Construction certificate.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • Previous Health, Safety & Environmental experience in the social housing sector, particularly in planned and reactive repairs & maintenance and construction.
  • Membership to IOSH, IIRSM, or APS (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of the construction industry and relevant experience within it.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Credible and confident, able to deliver work in an intelligent, collaborative, and enthusiastic manner.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to meet deadlines and produce detailed reports.
