Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + car/ travel allowance + excellent benefits package

Carriera is excited to partner with an independent property & construction consultancy who operate across the UK. The business is looking to strengthen its established fire safety department with the addition of a Fire Risk Assessor to join their Birmingham office.

Our client is a progressive practice which has 12 offices based throughout the UK providing a variety of construction services to their clients in the built environment. The business is heavily involved in projects within the commercial, residential, student accommodation, local authority, sport, manufacturing, warehouse, infrastructure, hotel, and leisure sectors across the country.

Due to the department growing over the last year, a number of key project wins and a strong order book of projects going into 2024 and beyond, our client requires an experienced and competent fire safety professional to offer a variety of fire safety services to their clients across the West Midlands.

This role would suit a client facing consultant who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a well-respected practice which is going through an exciting period of growth.

They require someone who is capable of the following;

• Conduct fire risk assessments on a variety of properties and real estate.
• Maintain fire risk assessor competency requirements through systems training and updates of legislation.
• Offer fire safety consultancy service to clients and stakeholders.
• Keep up to date with the latest changes in regards to fire safety guidelines, fire safety legislation and building regulations.
• Work alongside a multi-disciplined team of building surveyors, project managers, H&S professionals, cost managers etc.
• Liaise with principal contractors and clients to influence fire safety.
• Oversee all aspects of fire safety for their portfolio of projects.
• Lead and manage projects in a proactive and diligent manner.
• Develop new and existing business relationships. 

About you

• NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent.
• CFPA Europe Diploma or level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (desirable but not essential).
• Third party accredited e.g FRACS or IFE etc. (essential)
• Membership of IFE/ IFSM or capable of working towards this.
• Excellent knowledge of UK fire safety legislation.
• Experience of conducting fire risk assessments on various buildings and structures.
• Have worked in the sector for 3-5 years ideally with a consultancy, housing association, university or property management organisation.
