Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (dependant on experience) + excellent benefits package

Carriera is excited to partner with one of the UK's leading property & construction consultancies. Our client is a well-established organisation which has been offering professional construction services for over 70 years, they boast a headcount of over 1,000 staff operating out of 13 offices in the UK.

Our client has recently established a Fire Consultancy/ Fire Engineering department which they are looking to develop with the addition of a Fire Engineer or Senior Fire Engineer joining the team. The engineer would be based from the Bristol or Cardiff office to work alongside a small team of fire safety professionals (currently stands at 3).

The business works across various sectors and has a diverse range of clients within the residential, education, healthcare, MOD, government, commercial, public sector, leisure, mixed-use, retail, pharmaceutical, and tech sectors across the country.

Duties:

• Delivery of fire consultancy services along with fire strategy and design reports.
• Excellent understanding of UK legislation, standards and guidance, such as Regulatory Reform (Fire & Safety) Order 2005; HM Government Fire Safety Risk Assessment Guides; Building Regulations - Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 7974.  
• Attendance of internal & external design team meetings.
• Dealing with internal and external enquiries efficiently and professionally as a point of contact for the Fire Engineering Team.
• Generate fire safety audits and surveys.
• Mentor and provide technical fire safety advice to junior members of the team.
• Develop new and existing business relationships with developers, contractors, clients, designers and architects.

About you:

• Degree in fire engineering, structural engineering or a similar engineering discipline.
• Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards this (desirable).
• Previous experience as a fire engineer working on projects across the built environment.
• Membership to IFE - ideally at Member, Associate or Graduate level.
• Full UK Driving License.
