Role: Building or Fire Inspector

Location: Midlands/ North West - Home based role with travel to projects

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 DOE + company car or car allowance + excellent benefits package

Carriera is working with a leading fire safety consultancy who is looking to develop their team with the addition of a Fire Safety Inspector or Building Inspector to join the business and work on a diverse portfolio of residential (public & private), commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, sport, leisure, retail and office projects across the Midlands and North West of England.

The role would be based from home with expectations that you travel to projects and manage a portfolio of clients. The role requires someone with a broad range of technical expertise and a strong understanding of fire safety and building regulations who can work independently and on one's own initiative.

The ideal candidate would come from a building control, approved inspector or fire service background and have experience of conducting inspections on various buildings and properties in the built environment.

Duties:

• Provide fire safety inspections on a variety of building, properties, and structures.
• Experience in the inspection and /or verification of passive fire protection.
• Lead on projects and maintain client expectations.
• Continue to develop knowledge around fire engineering, fire safety legislation and design standards.
• Provide specialist technical advice on fire safety, particularly in relation to fire strategies and fire risk assessments.
• Offer support and advice on fire safety matters including investigation and enforcement where appropriate.
• Contribute to regulatory fire safety support work including the development and maintenance of inspection/assessment guides, processes, and procedures.

Requirements:

• Degree in building surveying, engineering, or a similar construction discipline (desirable)
• Membership to CABE or RICS (desirable)
• Membership to IFE or IFSM (desirable)
• 3 - 5 years experience working as a building inspector, fire inspector, quality assurance or similar discipline.
• Full UK driving license.
