Building Control Surveyor

Role: Building Control Surveyor or Building Consultant

Location: London (offices close to Liverpool Street)

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + car allowance + excellent benefits package

Carriera has partnered with a multi-disciplinary property & construction consultancy who operate across the UK. The business is looking to hire two Building Control Surveyors or Building Consultants to sit within their CDM/ Principal Designer team, and work with a wide array of clients across the built environment.

The business has a number of key projects across London/ South East with longstanding clients within the residential, commercial, retail, office, leisure, hotel, sport and education sectors. The role has been created off the back of the changes happening in the industry related to the Building Safety Act, and our client wanting to integrate their PD and Building Control service. This is an excellent opportunity to develop client facing skills whilst being part of a highly successful consultancy which is going through an exciting period of growth.

Duties:

• Carryout building control inspections, site visits, surveys and prepare reports.
• Offer advice around the Building Safety Act.
• Undertake plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
• Inspect properties and buildings at key stages of the building process.
• Attend client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building control work.
• Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues and key stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management or similar discipline.
• Membership to RICS, CABE or CIOB.
• Experience of inspecting buildings and properties.
• Excellent knowledge of building regulations, codes and legislation.
