Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 (dependant on experience) + car allowance (circa £6,000) + excellent benefits package + bonus scheme

Carriera has partnered with an independent construction consultancy which is recruiting for an Associate or Senior Associate Fire Engineer to spearhead our clients Building & Fire Safety service.

This is an exciting time for the business who have won a number of significant projects within the fire engineering and consultancy space and require an ambitious, forward thinking fire engineering professional to join the team, and both deliver and help grow the department.

The business works across a diverse range of sectors across the build environment but have developed key relationships in the commercial and residential markets.

The role would suit a Principal or Associate Fire Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a business which is going through an exciting period of growth, our client will offer a clear progression path, excellent CPD, support and training to help you achieve your career goals.

Duties:

• Delivery of fire consultancy services along with fire strategy and design reports.
• Excellent understanding of UK legislation, standards and guidance, such as Regulatory Reform (Fire & Safety) Order 2005; HM Government Fire Safety Risk Assessment Guides; Building Regulations - Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 7974.  
• Attendance of internal & external design team meetings.
• Dealing with internal and external enquiries efficiently and professionally as a point of contact for the Fire Engineering Team.
• Generate fire safety audits and surveys.
• Carry out EWS assessment on a variety of buildings and structures.
• Mentor and provide technical fire safety advice to junior members of the team.
• Develop new and existing business relationships with developers, contractors, clients, designers and architects.

About you:

• Degree in fire engineering, structural engineering or a similar engineering discipline.
• Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards this (desirable).
• Previous experience as a fire engineer working on projects across the built environment.
• Fire safety design experience.
• Experience with External Wall Assessments/FRAEW/PAS9980
• Membership to IFE - ideally at Member, Associate or Graduate level.
• Full UK Driving License.
