Role: Associate Director - CDM/ PD Services

Location: Leeds office - (1 - 2 days in the office per week)

Sector: Property & Construction Consultancy

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + industry leading benefits package 

Carriera has joined forces with a boutique property & construction consultancy who operate throughout the UK. Our client has been established for 20 years offering building surveying, cost management and H&S/ CDM services to a variety of clients across the built environment - the business is incredibly busy in the residential, commercial, hotel, heritage and government sectors.

Our client has ambitious growth plans and are looking to develop their service offering in the North of England with addition of an Associate Director to lead and develop the CDM/ PD department in the region. The role would suit a senior CDM professional who has previous experience of managing teams, delivery of a range of projects and strong commercial understanding (e.g fee proposals, tendering, invoicing, department profit and loss etc.)

The successful candidate will join a well-established H&S/ CDM department of 5 staff (London based team) who have a wealth of property & construction experience between them. The role would suit an ambitious and proactive CDM professional who is looking to further their career and join a well-respected consultancy going through an exciting period in the companies history.

Responsibilities: 

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all CDM matters within the organisation, providing expert advice and guidance to project teams, contractors, and clients.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, codes of practice, and industry best practices, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety standards.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of project designs, identifying potential hazards and risks, and making recommendations for risk mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to develop and implement effective health and safety plans.
• Provide training and support to project teams on CDM regulations, risk management, and safety procedures.
• Monitor and review project progress, conducting regular site visits and inspections to assess compliance with CDM regulations and identify any areas for improvement.
• Assist in the development and implementation of company-wide CDM policies, procedures, and strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends, changes in legislation, and emerging best practices in CDM to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of health and safety excellence.

Requirements:

• NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable).
• Professional membership to IOSH and APS.
• Strong commercial management.
• Previous experience of managing people.
• Knowledge of the Building Safety Act.
• Have worked in a consultancy setting for the last 2 - 3 years.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
