Assistant Building Surveyor

A West End based property consultancy is looking to increase their building surveying department with the addition of an Assistant Building Surveyor.

The building surveying team predominately focus in the commercial, industrial and private residential sectors. They provide a wide variety of services and pride themselves on delivering accurate advice across the built environment. 80% of their projects are located in Zone 1 with the remainder in the local home counties. A healthy diet of work is on offer working across both the professional and project disciplines. Project values range from £200k - £3million.

The role is a support a Senior Building Surveyor with several multi-million pound schemes across the capital. You will be offered a wide variation of work which supports you on your APC journey. Full structured APC guidance is on offer from an experienced councillor, continued personal and professional progression is encouraged.

• Working across several projects in different sectors and being able to provide a range of building surveying duties.
• Undertaking feasibility studies, producing specifications, obtaining estimates, obtaining statutory approvals and administering contracts for refurbishment projects.
• The use and application of standard forms of building contract, such as JCT and NEC.
• Knowledge of building surveying professional services.
• Carry out surveys, inspections, schedules, provide professional services and the management of schemes in the South West East Region.
• Assisting in the development of fee proposals and contributing to bids.

Assistant Building Surveyor

• BSc in Building Surveying
• Minimum 18 months private practice building surveying experience
• Ideally started APC process
• Commercially aware
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
