Your ambitions achieved
It goes without saying that being prepared is absolutely crucial. As recruitment experts, we cannot stress how important it is for you to thoroughly research your potential employer. Look at their website, their LinkedIn profile, search the Internet for news and updates about the business and their services, and read industry press. Find out about any projects that they’ve worked on, or any awards they’ve received. Your potential employer will appreciate you making the effort.
Think of questions you might ask. It’s a great way to show interest, find out more, and address any concerns. Make sure you know your CV inside out too, if you have any gaps, your interviewer will want to know why – although don’t let gaps in your CV deter you from making an application. Take a pad and a pen too – helpful for any notes or questions you may want to ask.
This should be a two-way discussion; giving your potential employer the chance to find out about you and how you can fit with the needs of the role. Equally, it’s a time for you to find out from your employer what you can expect from the role and how it will fit with your career journey.
Always thank your interviewer for their time; in particular for giving you the opportunity to meet them and for being considered for the role. You can also find out when they plan to come back to you and what happens with the next stages of the interview process.
